If you select the icon at the top of the macro editor, it actually pulls up a menu where you can select icons. Some of the Role Icons are in that list (i.e. the Tank shield). Macros for combat in general will make you considerably worse at your role. The only one I would recommend for healer is for ground placing bubbles.
